Meta released its Quest 3 headset in October bringing with it everything we hoped for and more. Mixed reality supported, full-color passthrough, and 10x the passthrough resolution of Quest 2. All at a price point not considered totally outrageous.
Quest 3 isn’t just an improvement from Quest 2, at least where AR porn is concerned. It’s, as the title suggests, a complete and utter game-changer.
The thing with passthrough mode on Quest 2 was it was never intended for AR. It exists mostly for tracking the controllers and figuring out where the headset is in relation to the environment. And its certainly not mixed reality supported.
Yes, you can watch AR porn on Quest 2 but the resolution is low and the screen is grayscale. Quest 3 offers full-color passthrough thanks to the two 4MP RGB color Passthrough cameras on its front visor. It also has a far higher resolution making AR porn significantly more immersive.
Since Meta released Quest 3, interest in passthrough porn has grown significantly compared to the previous months. At the forefront of this exciting new technology is Sex Like Real, an innovative VR porn site that has been producing passthrough videos since 2022.
Looking at Sex Like Real’s homepage today, and filtering the selection to ‘Hot’, I can see that 5 out of the 16 videos displayed are passthrough scenes. Similarly, when I filter the selection to ‘Top’, I can see that 4 out of the 16 videos displayed are passthrough scenes.
Considering the site hosts 26,000 videos or so, and less than 150 of those are passthrough videos (and even fewer are alpha passthrough), it’s pretty mindblowing to think that it accounts for up to 31.25% of the currently most viewed or most enjoyed videos.
The video above is an example of what you can expect with Quest 3 passthrough. It was posted by Reddit user BigMagicHands and features popular pornstars Rissa May, Britt Blair, Raven Lane, and Nia Bleu.
As you can see, the quality is incredible and incomparable to that of Quest 2. The models appear totally real and lifelike as though the guy is really fucking them in his bedroom.

Aside from the features we’ve mentioned, Quest 3 comes with many other new and improved features. One of those is more storage. Quest 3’s most expensive device is the 512 GB model. That’s twice the amount of memory offered by Quest 2 and Quest Pro. Twice the storage means twice the number of VR/AR porn videos you can save to the device.
It also has a stronger processor. Quest 3 uses the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chip, as opposed to the Gen 1 used in Quest 2. This provides 2.5x graphics performance over the first gen offering a much clearer and sharper viewing experience.
It has pancake lenses, a higher resolution of pixels per eye, it’s smaller and more comfortable. It has better controllers, better hand tracking, and can automatically map a room. The list goes on.
In terms of VR porn, Quest 3 is a big improvement. But AR porn is where the benefits are truly reaped. Now that Quest supports mixed reality, we can expect to see a lot more true AR experiences developed over the coming months such as that of real girls now.
